What Makes Fiesta Unforgettable?
Dalí String Quartet & Fiesta No. 2 – One of the most dynamic ensembles performing today, the Dalí String Quartet takes center stage for the Annapolis premiere of Fiesta No. 2 by Puerto Rican composer Sonia Morales-Matos. This exhilarating piece brings the pulse of Latin American dance to life, fusing mambo, salsa, rumba, and bolero with classical elegance. Get ready
for a musical celebration that will have you tapping your feet!
A World Premiere – Restless World
Anew – Canadian composer Roydon Tse debuts his latest work, a deeply moving reflection on humanity’s connection to nature. This three-part composition takes listeners on a journey through a world untouched by man, the destruction of the environment, and nature’s ultimate redemption. Inspired by the birds of his hometown, Tse’s music paints an evocative soundscape that is both haunting and hopeful.
Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé – The concert concludes with one of the most breathtaking orchestral works ever written. Ravel’s masterpiece
is a sweeping, romantic ballet filled with rich textures, vivid orchestration, and an unforgettable sunrise sequence. ASO Music Director José-Luis Novo describes it as “sensual and stunning” – a perfect way to close an extraordinary season.
Pre-Concert Lecture – Enhance your concert experience with an engaging pre-concert lecture hosted by Jonathan Palevski of WBJC Classical Radio. The talk begins at 6:30 PM in the Maryland Hall auditorium and is free for all ticket
holders.
