Eye On Annapolis
Happy Thanksgiving!

Another year is coming to a close and we are about to celebrate Thanksgiving and I want to wish you all a wonderful holiday and to offer my thanks for you--without your readership, Eye On Annapolis would not be the success it is!

My Shop Local Plea
Let's be frank. The economy still stinks! Every day, many of our local stores are struggling to make ends meet. Many have already gone out of business and more are on the brink!  PLEASE...as you gear up for your holiday shopping, support our local merchants. They are your friends and neighbors and need your support!

We have been working with the Annapolis Economic Development Corporation and the City of Annapolis to produce a series of videos to highlight the wonderful businesses we have in town. Please look for these videos all over--YouTube, our site, the AEDC site, the City's site, and more. I think you may be surprised to see what the City has to offer. Look for a dedicated page on our site early next week!

My Discounted Restaurant Certificate Offer
We have again partnered with Barhopolis to bring you discounted, discounted restaurant certificates. As with the last time, they are inventory controlled and when they are gone, they are gone.

This time, you can take an ADDITIONAL 25% off the sale price. Just enter the promotional code EYEONHOLIDAYS when you check out and that $25 certificate to Chevy's Fresh Mex will only cost you $10.87!

The discount is good at all of the Annapolis and Baltimore restaurants including favorites like the Mexican Cafe, Heroes Pub, Luna Blu, Metropolitan, and many more!

But act now! On Friday, we will be releasing the code to our Facebook page and instead of competing with 5000 subscribers, there will be 55,000!

They don't expire, they are good on the entire tab, you can only use one at a time and please tip on the full check not the discounted amount!

Promo Code: EYEONHOLIDAYS

My Money Plea
If you have a few dollars to spare, please consider donating to the Salvation Army. The local Salvation Army does so much for the community--youth and families. This year they have set up an online "kettle" so it is very easy.  Here's the link and thank you in advance!

My WRNR Plea
Make sure you tune into WRNR, 103.1 on Friday mornings. We now have a relationship with 103.1 WRNR radio. Each Friday, we are on the air with Alex Cortright talking about the places to be for the upcoming week. Usually it is at 6:20am and again at 7:50am. Take 5 minutes and let Alex and I help plan out your weekend!

We are so appreciative of our sponsors. Of course we solicit advertisers and often we are approached by companies and organizations to help spread their message. What you may not know is that we are very particular and we do not accept advertising from just anyone.  We truly support local businesses and believe that they are the core of a vibrant economy. We also believe that these advertisers are the cream of the crop (of course they have exquisite taste in advertising as well) and encourage you to support them, click their ads and check them out.

HOMESTEAD GARDENS --Homestead is one of the most community oriented businesses you will find. For the holidays, they are all decked out with a quarter million lights and some of the finest home decor imaginable.

ZACHARY'S JEWELERS--A staple of Main Street for decades and more recently Severna Park. When they suffered a fire, the community came together for them. And they have been giving back ever since. Be sure to check out the monthly events in their stores--always a fun time!

RAMS HEAD ON STAGE --From a small bar to a multi location entertainment conglomerate, Rams Head offers it all. Fine food and the best entertainment in the area. They brought a wildly successful Silopanna Music Festival to the area in August and consistently feature top talent! URGENT:  On Black Friday, all surcharges are waived for all shows at Rams Head On Stage and Rams Head Live. Get your tickets now!

THE CITY OF ANNAPOLIS --Yes, despite our editorial criticism at times, they are sponsoring us with their Circulator Trolley initiative. If you are unaware of the FREE trolley, you owe it to yourself to check it out (click the ad). Discounted parking at Knighton or Park Place and a free ride around town! Annapolis is making it easier to get around and support our local businesses!

CHESAPEAKE EYE CARE & LASER CENTER--Dr. Maria Scott is the preeminent eye surgeon in the area. In 2000, I had Lasik surgery performed on my eyes and I cannot speak more highly of Dr. Scott and Chesapeake Eye Care. If you have eye problems--give them a call.

CLOCK TOWER PLACE-- Nestled off of Forest Drive, Clock Tower Place is a wonderful center with a bakery/patisserie, wine store, wine bar, cheese store, and much much more. Convenient, easy in and easy out with plenty of parking!

CHESAPEAKE BAY TRUST--They are smaller than the "other" organization, but have no problem getting their boots dirty and really making a difference in the health of the bay.

FLOYD'S BARBERSHOP --OK, so they are a national chain of uber cool barber shops. But did you know they had their start in Bowie? Yes, three brothers developed the concept and ran with it. Now they are well represented here in the County with stores in Annapolis and Crofton.

MIDDLETON TAVERN, OBRIEN'S OYSTER BAR, OB's PRIME, AND ANNAPOLIS UNPLUGGED--These are the quintessential Annapolis dining establishments run by the the Hardestys who have been in Annapolis for generations. Annapolis Unpplugged is a series of very local (and upcoming) live music brought into their restaurants--often coupled with a WRNR event! The food is consistently great as is the service.

WELLNESS HOUSE--If cancer has ever touched you, a loved one, or a friend, please learn more about  this non-medical care facility for cancer patients and their families.

PIPPY PICTURES--Big smiles, beaming faces--these are two of the hallmarks of Lisa Dierolf and Pippy Pictures. From family portraits to casual shots to weddings and special moments, Lisa has the perfect eye. Check out her portfolio and click the ad!

INTEGRITY WOOD FURNISHINGS-- Unique, custom, and unusual are three words that typically describe what John Kraft from Integrity Wood Furnishings does. He takes little pieces of wood and fashions them into larger masterpieces brimming with color. One hangs over my fireplace right now!

103.1 WRNR--We love WRNR. It is our local awesome music station who is always partnering to sponsor events in town. We love them even more because they allow us to come on the air on Fridays and talk about what is happening in the area!  And re really love that they have the technology to make us sound a little less Fran Drescher-esque! Give them a listen, they are a perfect match!

ANNE ARUNDEL CARES--Anne Arundel Cares is a local fundraising funnel for many of the local non-profit organizations that make out county so special. Through AA Cares, you can donate to one or many and the money goes directly to the charity. Check them out and read some of the stories about the great work our non-profits are doing!
The End!
