St. Paddy's Day Revelry Abounds
Mark your calendars for the revelry in Annapolis that IS St. Patrick's Day! First up, the FIRST EVER Annapolis St. Patrick's Day Parade. It is scheduled for this Sunday, March 10th from 1pm to 3pm. It begins at Amos Garrett Boulevard, down West Street and Church Circle, down Main Street to City Dock. Then crawl back up to Stan & Joe's Saloon for the after-party with live music by Off The Boat. The parade is a fundraiser for Warrior Events
and any proceeds will go to assist our disabled veterans! People have asked "why the 10th and not the 16th or 17th?" Well, the town is hopping on the 17th with other celebrations and you can read on for the 16th...but the best reason is because we are Annapolis and we do things a little differently here! Eastport Green Beer Races are coming again on Saturday March 16th at the Eastport Democratic Club. Beginning at noon, there will be Green Kool-Aid races for the kids, green beer races for the grown ups, a keg toss, contests for the most Irish spirit for humans and canines and live music all day long! Oh yeah, and have no fear...plenty of green beer!
The
Greene Turtle in Annapolis, Gambrills, and Pasadena are gearing up for the green as well with a special Irish menu, drink specials and more! The Greene Turtles are your place to go get Shamrocked! Check out their Facebook pages for all of the info!
And speaking of all things Irish, don't forget the 3rd Annual Annapolis Irish Festival coming to the fairgrounds in July, but for right now, if you are on Facebook, you MUST go and "like" Dublin 5. You may have known them as The Rovers, but due to a legal issue, they needed to change their name--same great guys, same great music. Go on and give them a like!
