It's Annapolis Beer Week! |
In case you missed it, the taps have been flowing all week in celebration of beer! The first ever Annapolis Beer Week kicked off on Saturday with a 5K serious/semi-serious/fun run complete with beer refreshing stations to make sure you stayed hydrated! Sunday was Beer and Bands with five bands and a ton of craft brews in the parking lot next to Stan & Joe's Saloon on West Street.
Monday was Green Drinks at Rockfish and last night was the night for all the eligible singles in town to meet at WEST at the Loews!
Tonight you can meet the brewmasters at Stan & Joe's as well as Metropolitan.
Tomorrow is the Annapolis Beer Week Pub Crawl (see below for a discount)!!
Friday is a glorious sail on the Schooner Woodwind and drink specials all around town and finally....
Saturday caps off the week with 2 sessions of the fabulous and funny Drafts and Laughs--and we have a discount for you for that as well!
The neat thing is that some of these events are free and others require an admission; but each of them benefits a local non-profit--Green Drinks, MS Busters, Wellness House, MD Theatre for Performing Arts, Hospice of the Chesapeake, YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel, Oyster Recovery Partnership, and the Foundation for Community Betterment! Annapolis Beer Week wraps up the week with the 2nd Annual Maryland Drafts and Laughs. Featuring an incredible variety of craft and imported beers and some of the region's best comedians creating the perfect recipe for a good time! Saturday April 27, 2013. Tickets are selling fast and as a subscriber to Eye On Annapolis, we can save you $10!
Your admission will allow you to sample over 50 craft brews from the Maryland region as well as imports which will be showcased. The one-of-a kind local event is the perfect opportunity for beer aficionados, beer lovers and the casual beer drinker to discover unique libations while enjoying a variety of comic talent from the Washington/Baltimore region. In addition to laughter, the true beer enthusiast will find private presentations and Q&A from some of the area's top Brew Masters. Food is not included in the ticket price, but will be available for purchase. Wine and sodas are also available.
No one under 21 will be admitted. Only those 21+ with valid photo ID (driver's license or passport) will be admitted. Proper identification is the responsibility of the attendee, no exceptions. This includes designated drivers who must be 21+ to attend. The National Guard Armory is easy to get to and offers plenty of free on-site parking. Transportation is available by Youngs Transportation Services and accommodations by O'Callaghan Annapolis Hotel. Great brews, great comics and plenty of great people! Some Parting Words
As I continue to watch my calendar fill in, I am always amazed at what a great community we live in and how robust our businesses community is and how integrated everyone is with the non-profit world. There are not many areas that can make helping one another out so much fun! And let's not forget that you are a big part of that equation.
