Polar Bear Plunge
January 24th
8am to 5pm
PLUNGE ON!

It's almost here!  The 10-Day weather forecast is showing a high of 37 degrees on Friday. I am guessing there is not a chance for a heatwave on Saturday, eh?

But...it is all for one of the best causes around.  The Polar Bear Plunge is being set up as we speak. The Rams Head Ice Lodge, the Carnival Fun Tent, new this year..beachfront hospitality suites. And of course the cold Chesapeake Bay!

Entertainment this year includes Dublin 5, Hot Tub Limo, and Burnt Sienna all on stage in the heated tent!

But above all, it is a day full of fun, excitement, and entertainment for one of the most worthy causes in the State.

The money and awareness raised contributes to the programs that allow our fellow citizens who have physical and mental challenges the opportunity to excel.

If you have never seen the smile of a Special Olympian as they cross the finish line...you are missing something.

I am personally  proud to support Special Olympics of Maryland and the Polar Bear Plunge and I hope you will too!

You can plunge!

Or you can contribute!

Or you can join our team!

Or you can come out on the 24th and just have a great day!

Dress warmly and I will see you at the Plunge!

All the best--

Support A Plunger
If plunging into the frigid Chesapeake Bay is not your thing, why not support someone whose thing it is?

I am proud to say that my daughter is on her 4th plunge this year and is gladly accepting contributions.

Or, you can just have a look here and support your favorite plunger or plunge team!

Go And Have Fun
The plunge is more than a fundraiser and a chance to dive into the Chesapeake Bay. It is a FREE day full of fun and activities for the whole family!

A family tent with crafts, displays, a giant sand sculpture, play zone, food, and more.

An Ice Lodge by Rams Head with live entertainment, adult refreshments, vendors, and strolling entertainment.

The entire grounds will have something for everyone--raving Ravens fans, stilt walkers, clowns, food, song, dance, and much much more!

If you are not plunging, why not bundle up and head over to Sandy Point State Park on the 25th for an afternoon you will remember for a long time!

And be sure to document your time on social media. Make sure you tweet, facebook, instagram, vine, and tumbl your way through the day.  Use the #PlungeMD hashtag!
Plunge Partners
Let's face it; the area's biggest party could not happen without the support of the local business community. Year after year, these businesses and organizations give their all to Special Olympics of Maryland to put on the Plunge. And for that, we thank them!
