You may have encountered the term "session beer" before. You may have even experienced a session beer yourself.
But what exactly is a "session beer"?
In the simplest terms, a session beer is an easily drinkable beer.
By
definition:
Any beer that contains no higher than 5 percent ABV, featuring a balance between malt and hop characters (ingredients) and, typically, a clean finish - a combination of which creates a beer with high drinkability.
The purpose of a session beer is to allow a beer drinker to have multiple beers, within a reasonable time period or session, without overwhelming the
senses or reaching inappropriate levels of intoxication.
And with spring on the way and summer festival season around the corner..who does not like that? Next time you are out give a session beer a try.
Abita Summer Pils, Smuttynose Vunderbar Pilsner, and Victory Helles are all good starting points!
