10 Local Podcasts--Are You Listening?

Published: Sat, 01/27/18

Hi

Are you listening to podcasts yet?

It’s easier than ever to find, subscribe and listen to literally thousands of podcasts on every topic from news, arts, business, comedy, education, politics, sports, technology, music, health, spirituality, hobbies, and more.

Podcasts are free (with very few exceptions). Podcasters create content and publish their episodes on popular platforms like iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher and many now on the popular Amazon Echo ...Hey Alexa!

All smartphones today have a built in app for listening. If you haven’t opened this app yet – give it a try and start exploring!  I listen to them while I am exercising at the Pip Moyer Rec Center, while driving (bluetooth is wonderful), working in the yard, or just at my desk while working. And the beauty of it is that once you subscribe -- they come right to your electronic device of choice automatically! And then, listen to them when you get a chance...in whole, or in part. Or even skip an episode that may not interest you. Totally on-demand!

To give you a start, here are a bunch of local podcasts to which I subscribe. Click on the image (or the "Read More" link and go right to their website to learn more, subscriber, listen to a few other episodes, etc.

Disclaimer: the first two are mine...and it is self-serving, but yeah..give then a listen--they're both good--The Maryland Crabs launched in September 2016, and he Daily News Brief launched in September 2018. My dad even said they were great.  He can't be wrong...right?

And, when you do check them out--please take the time to rate them. It is usually a one click task, but ratings (good or bad) really help out in any number of ways. If you have a minute--leave a review as well.

To learn more, click on the image associated with the podcast and go to the site. To subscribe, I have included the links at the bottom!

Happy Listening!

PS:  If you are interested in how to produce a podcast, shoot me an email. Not that I am an expert or anything, but I can tell you what I do, share what I have learned and maybe you can start your own one! I was shocked at how simple it really is.  Shoot me an email and we'll talk!

THE EYE ON ANNAPOLIS DAILY NEWS BRIEF
Eye On Annapolis
The Daily News Brief is a sister podcast to Eye On Annapolis. It is produced every Monday through Friday and releases at 7am so you can catch your local news, weather and sports before work or on the way in. If you have about ten minutes, the Daily News Brief can bring you the local news, local weather, local sports, local events, and local opinions.

About the weather and sports. Too little emphasis is given to high school sports. We changed that up with Kevin Chaney from ShellBack Sports. Kevin has been working with Eye On Annapolis for about a year and is growing his local sports commentary. Find him here.  And as we all know, Annapolis weather (as opposed to Baltimore weather) is hard to predict. We have partnered with George Young from DMV Weather who is right here and familiar with the Bay, the winds, and how it all comes together for our unique forecast!

Subscribe--you won't regret it! AND PLEASE...RATE US!

If you have an Amazon Echo, you can add the skill (there is a link below) and then just simply say "Hey Alexa, play the Eye On Annapolis Daily News Brief" and she will play the most recent DNB.  You can even add it to your Flash Briefing so you can create a customized new program each day! Ahh technology...ain't it wonderful!
