Chrissy Holt, Democratic Candidate for Maryland Senate District 30 in Annapolis and South County

Chrissy Holt, born Marylander, is a graduate of the University of Maryland and has a Master's Degree from the London School of Economics.  She is a long time resident of Anne Arundel County; first in Lothian, then Annapolis, where she lives with her husband, Art, and their four children near the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

Her 25 years of business experience range from the phenomenal tech startup, Careerbuilder, which she helped launch from the ground up, to her current position with The Walt Disney Company. 

Chrissy’s impressive record of healthcare advocacy began decades ago when her son was born with severe hemophilia and deemed uninsurable.  She won her battle with insurance companies and continues to fight hard for all families to be covered.  After Chrissy's family was touched by addiction, she became a powerful voice for addiction disorder treatment and funding.  She speaks out and champions equal rights, living wages, equity in our courts and schools, and protection of our environment and the Chesapeake Bay. Chrissy knows how to create jobs with livable wages. She is prepared, through experience, to bring her tenacity and strength to the Senate.

The District 30 Senate seat has a rich tradition.  We are fortunate to have had great representation throughout the years. Senator John Astle has been a model Senator for constituent service and we are grateful for his many years working on our behalf.  This session, Chrissy worked with Senator Astle on several pieces of legislation dealing with addictions.  Chrissy also commends Senator Gerald Winegrad, who initiated model environmental protection policies and demonstrated how to run and win campaigns without special interest money.  Dr. Aris T. Allen also held this seat and he was revered by everyone for his compassion and decades of public service.  

These exemplary public servants define the core values of Chrissy's campaign: healthy people, healthy communities and healthy environment.  This includes social justice issues and access to the best possible education in our local public schools with full funding and quality resources.  Chrissy believes the great equalizer in social mobility and career opportunity is education.

This seat leaves large shoes to fill.  It is not an entry-level position.  Chrissy's life experiences, decades of advocacy, and business skills make her the best and most well-rounded choice for the Democratic nominee.
