Hi
This weekend, Good Charlotte will be taking to the streets of Annapolis for a
benefit concert to support the victims and survivors of the Capital-Gazette shooting on June 28th.
Annapolis Rising is a benefit concert for the free press an the first responders and will get underway at noon on Saturday, July 28th on Calvert Street in downtown Annapolis.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Capital-Gazette Families' Fund and the Capital-Gazette Scholarship Fund. Both funds were established after the shooting and are administered by the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County.
Good Charlotte can trace their roots to
Anne Arundel County and playing in Cafe Guru (now Leeward Market) and at Eastport A Rockin. They wanted to give back to a city that helped them get their start and to help us heal. They have not played in Annapolis for more than 10 years.
Other acts will also take the stage including Less Than Jake who will be headlining the Warped tour on Sunday, comedian Jordan Klepper, members of the Capital-Gazette staff along with
journalists from The New York Times, the Washington Post, and MSNBC will be speaking.
All of the performers and speakers are donating their services because they believe in Annapolis and keeping #AnnapolisStrong.
Tickets are $25 and available at Rams Head On Stage who is also donating the ticketing services to the
event.
